What I'm Listening To: Christmas

Well, we've officially reached the "less than two weeks til Christmas" mark! I feel like a little kid counting down the days, but I'm just so excited to be able to spend extra time with my family! Plus, having a ten year old brother means that Christmas Spirit is still alive and well at home! And, judging by all the exclamation points I've used already, it's obviously still alive and well in me. The holiday season is a time full of so many family traditions, and one of mine revolves around music...


Each Christmas morning began the same way, with my siblings and I in our bedrooms giddy with anticipation at the crack of dawn (often times earlier). But, to spare our parents from exhaustion, we had to wait until 6am before waking them up. At 6:00 on the button we'd call down the stairs to wake them up, and then wait for the response... music. Once that Christmas music started playing it was go time! We'd make our way downstairs (single file - youngest to oldest), and when we reached the living room, mayhem ensued. The good kind of mayhem, filled with screeches of "I got just what I wanted!" And all the while, that Christmas music was playing, being engrained in our minds as a link to some very happy memories. 

This photo is a pretty great link to those happy memories too...way back when there were only 3 of us! There are 7 of us now, and even though we don't all live at home, we still make our way back at the crack of dawn to keep the tradition alive. (P.S. how great are our outfits? My creative Mom made them for us!)


Today I want to share with you some of my favorite Christmas songs. For me, Christmas wouldn't be the same without these, and I hope I've included some of your favorites as too!


(Please note that Mom & Dad did not play N'Sync Christmas music. I brought that upon myself, and I think my Dad would be horrified if anyone thought otherwise! Sigh, same goes for Celine Dion)

    So many great memories from our past Christmas'. The Love, The Laughter, and of course, All The Presents. Only 12 more days 'til the big day. Maybe this will be the year I finally get an OFFICIAL RED RYDER CARBINE ACTION TWO-HUNDRED SHOT RANGE MODEL AIR RIFLE....and oh yeah, I promise I won't shoot my eye out.

      Thanks Mom, it's so true. So many happy memories! (The home videos help too!) Haha you definitely could be a Creative Friend. I can see it now - a collection of your past Halloween costume creations, summer jumpers, Christmas outfits etc...
